Abby got baptized in October!
Abby and her buddy, Ella Claire:
Becca Zieber, Izzy Shaw, Malachi, Micah, and Macey Thompson got baptized too!
We also had some kayakers pass on through during baptisms, blaring their country music. 😆
This is what Abby wrote about getting baptized:
I want to be baptized because I want to follow Jesus. A few years ago, I wasn’t following Jesus very well, so I asked him to forgive my sins. I try my best to have love and grace for people, but I know I still mess up. And that’s okay because Jesus forgives me, and he will make me more like him as I get older until I die and then I will see him and be happy and not have any more sin. Jesus is my loving Father and He is nice to me. I believe that He died for me, and I believe that He will take care of me.
My favorite Bible verse is “You will seek me and you will find me when you search for me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13
The first week of October was fall break from CC. The kids and I went miniature golfing one day!
They had already decorated for Halloween. 😆
We love our screened-in porch in the evenings!
More running!
Both the girls varsity team AND the boys varsity team won first place at the Starlight Race in Greer on October 16! That was a super fun race, and Micah got his PR for the season which was 21 minutes, 26 seconds for the 5k.
The very last race (at Northwestern) was a pretty hard one!
The Ziebers were dog-sitting for a friend, and Abby LOVED the dog!
At CC. Caleb likes to wear his sunglasses all the time (and turns his feet backwards to gross everyone out all the time.)
Hayride at CC field trip:
The weekend of the Starlight Race in Greer, the Ziebers and the kids and I all spent the night at the Buchers. Lilly, Helen, Micah, and Maddox all ran in the race! Beth came from Clemson to spend the night too. It was so fun!
It was a huge race! It started and ended on the track, so we could sit and watch a lot of it. It was in the evening, so it was cooler (actually, it got COLD in the stands!) and a pretty flat course... plus they played fun music. :)
We went to church with the Buchers on Sunday and then (of course) to the awesome taco place near them:
A warm spot to read his Bible :)
Painting pumpkins at the UIM Friendship Dinner:
Ben took Micah to try driving in a parking lot:
Beth's birthday!
Typical day:
The fun run with cross-country at Halloween time: Micah and Joe were Calvin and Hobbes :)
Abby ran too! 2 whole miles! She was Malificent (but took the hat off before she ran)... she had borrowed it from the Ziebers :)
Getting behind the slow runners from "Chariots of Fire":
And the end of year awards. It was really sweet! Lilly got the Trailblazers award, and then also gave an amazing speech blessing each coach!
Crayfish at CC:
Micah's birthday! 15 years old! He went to breakfast with Dad then to CC. :)
Micah's birthday week was really full! The Costume Run with Trailblazers was Tuesday night, Wednesday (his birthday), we had the Ziebers and Kaufmans over for dinner after CC, the PTG fall dance was Thursday night, and then he had a party at our house Friday night with his friends. Then Saturday, we went to a costume party/hang out at the Wilburns.
AND! Micah got his permit the day after he turned 15!! He would have gone the day of his birthday if he could have... but CC got in the way of that. :) He's an eager beaver to be ready to drive!
Funny story.... after making sure we had everything together paperwork wise, we got to the DMV to take the permit test, and Micah realized he had forgotten his glasses. I told him to just try the eye test without them in hopes we wouldn't have to run back home. He got up to the screen for the eye test and was like, "Ummm... 4?" The lady said, "Honey, they're all letters." We went home and got his glasses and came back. :) He had no problem passing the written test. (He got two wrong I think.)
Driving around the neighborhood (without his glasses) 😑
One of Micah's gifts was a ping-pong net you can attach to any table. It became very popular for a while.... and I found myself dodging ping pong balls while cooking dinner. 😆
Fall PTG dance:
Micah rode with the Ziebers. It's a good strategy to show up with 4 beautiful women. 😁
The last cross-country practice of the season! Beautiful morning at Walter Elisha Park:
Costume Party fun at the Wilburns!
Annual chili and Halloween candy hunt at the Thompsons. :)
Caleb got his first Covid shot!
Caleb has been learning animation/coding through Khan Academy. He created our family. 😄
