2-9-15

Wes and Joyce came down over the New Year, and brought Christmas presents!  Too bad we all passed a stomach bug back and forth (or at least the Ziebers did and finally, Joyce.  Us Gansons didn't get it until later.)  Once Joyce got sick, she and Wes left early Sunday morning and had to miss the first "weekly" church service at VCRH.
Caleb got a Flash costume.  He was pretty excited. :)
Abby got a doctor outfit and went to work taking care of her babies...

....and of course keeping them dry with her new umbrella. :)

Caleb is still obsessed with geography.  I found him drawing this free-hand one day without looking at a map.

For her birthday, Abby got some toy cookie cutters, rolling pin, and a mixer.  She and Caleb played for hours with the playdough.

Micah was sick on Abby's birthday (the stomach bug finally caught us), so we had to cancel the party we had planned.  I'm glad I didn't order a bigger cake!  It's just as well because Abby HATES being the center of attention.  Her cousin Beth had made her a little cake the prior Wednesday and we sang happy birthday to her at our community group gathering... and she started crying hysterically. I had to take her to her room and calm her down. :)

Cake and ice cream on her new little table from IKEA.  Micah was feeling much better at this point. :)

Our little buddy, Joshua.

I think in this picture Josh tripped, Abby was starting to throw a fit, and Caleb was just rolling on the ground for fun.

Micah actually likes reading somewhat... as long as the book has to do with sports or possibly interesting biographies.

Zuri Bucher had a princess party. :)

All the princesses:

"Waiting in line to play "pin the wand on the princess"

I finally finished putting up stuff in Abby's room.  I had a an extra valance, so I made a pretend window out of picture frames.  Now I just need a good quality picture of Grandma and Grandpa's farm in the spring or summer when everything is pretty, and I can make it into a poster in the frames so it will look like she's looking out the window and Grandma's house!

Playing Uno (or "Elmo" as Abby calls it.)

The dryer died.  Which is actually great because when we bought the house it came with a one-year home warranty, so we are getting a brand new $700 dryer for $100!  And hopefully this one won't sound as loud as a jet engine!!  Ben fixed me up with a clothesline.  Luckily, last week was plenty sunny and breezy.

It was almost 70 on Sunday.  BEAUTIFUL day to cook out at the Zieber's after church.

Caleb's first game of Dominion.  He caught on pretty quick.  In this hand, Micah had more money than we had ever seen in one hand.  He had $18 and two buys so he could buy TWO Provinces.  (That would mean a lot more to those who know how to play Dominion.)  I think I captured Ben's face just as he realized how much money Micah had.

In other news, it looks like Ben might be switching jobs again.  It's not definite, but I think we'll know by next week if he wants to do it.  He'd be working for Carolle Financial in Charlotte... probably just two-three days a week.   I'll write more about it later, but if this works out the way it looks like it might, we will be so blessed.  One of those, "Wow, God, are you seriously going to do something THAT cool for us??"
